Your computer does the work.

The MCP server runs locally. It downloads an accessible video directly from its source, extracts frames with the included FFmpeg, and writes the PDF to your computer. SnapClap has no service that receives or stores video or PDF files: the downloaded video and frames are removed after conversion, while the PDF stays in your local job folder.

Public source platforms and your AI client still use the internet. The source URL stays in local job metadata; no video URLs or conversion analytics are sent to SnapClap.

INSTALL ONCE

Connect your agent.

Requirements: Node.js 20.19 or later. X and Instagram use SnapClap’s existing yt-dlp fallback when needed. Public links only; this does not bypass private posts or sign-in walls.

Start the local server

npx -y @calnflow/snapclap-mcp

Install the published package directly from npm. Your MCP client runs it on your computer; no CalnFlow repository is needed.

2 · Codex

Restart Codex. The SnapClap tools will appear in the MCP server list.

Add this server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and reload Cursor:

SnapClap uses the standard local MCP connection for each client. Follow the setup steps above, then ask your AI agent to create a PDF from a public video URL.

Then paste a supported public video URL and ask: “Turn this video into a SnapClap PDF and give me the local file.”
